Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Career Transition Manager to join our team and support senior level consultants transitioning out of our consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the consulting industry and a passion for guiding individuals through career transitions with compassion and expertise. 

As a direct report to the Americas Head of Human Resources, you'll have the autonomy to express yourself fully and receive acknowledgment for your unique contributions. Key responsibilities  

 

  • Individualized Career Coaching: Provide personalized career coaching sessions to Partner, Principal and Manager level consultants, helping them identify their strengths, interests, and career goals. Offer guidance on resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies tailored to their unique skills and aspirations. 
  • Skill Assessment and Development: Regularly conduct assessments to identify Partner, Principal and Manager consultants' transferable skills and areas for development. Design and implement training programs and/or recommend external resources to enhance their marketability in the job market. 
  • Networking and Job Placement: Assist Partner, Principal and Manger consultants in building and leveraging their professional networks to explore job opportunities. Collaborate with recruiters, industry contacts, and alumni networks to facilitate job placements and connect consultants with potential employers. Also work with alumni team to facilitate networking and opportunities among alumni, current employees, and external contacts. 
  • Support and Empowerment: Offer emotional support and encouragement to Partner, Principal and Manager consultants as they navigate the challenges of career transition. Empower them to embrace change, build resilience, and approach their job search with confidence and positivity. 
  • Resource Management: Manage resources and tools to support Partner, Principal and Manager consultants in their career transition journey, including online platforms, job boards, and career development materials. Help identify potential opportunities at Kearney clients. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in career transition services.
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement: Continuously assess the effectiveness of career transition programs and services, gathering feedback from consultants and stakeholders. Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to ensure the highest quality of support.  Track and analyze engagement, career outcomes and feedback to assess program effectiveness and success.

We want to hear from you if you:  

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources, counseling, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in career counseling, talent development, or related roles, preferably in the consulting or professional services industry. 
  • Have a strong understanding of career development theories, job search strategies, and employment trends. 
  • Have a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • Possess certification in career coaching or relevant professional credentials is a plus. 
  • Are organized and have high quality standards. 
  • Possess excellent communication skills. 
  • Can work on multiple tasks at once, independently and with others.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this role is $110k - $160k. However, it is important to note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. Kearney reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness. In addition to salary, individuals may be eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.
